If you have an extra day in Kathmandu, and you feel like a shot of adrenaline, why not try jumping off a suspension bridge for a 160-metres free fall into the wild Bhote Koshi River canyon.
Bungee jumping can be done in a day. Starting from Kathmandu it’s just a three hour drive in a comfortable tourist coach to the bungee site near the Nepal Tibet border.
The company that runs the bungee is super safety conscious and has highly experienced jump masters who will make sure that you have a safe and wonderful time.
The jump is off a 166m wide steel suspension bridge that spans the Bhoti Kosi River. It's also possible to do a canyon swing, which avoids the dive but still give the excitment of free fall.
The jump was set up by Swiss bungee professionals with a 4x safety factor. The bridge has a loading factor of 250kg per running meter. This means that the bridge is made to hold up to 250 x 166 = 41,500kg or 4.5 tones.
