Kanchenjunga, 8586m, is the third highest mountain in the world and is one of the most beautiful mountain massifs of the Himalayas. Kanchenjunga means the five treasure houses of snow, which gives you some idea of what to anticipate when you visit this area. Kanchenjunga straddles the border with Sikkim in the remote north east region of Nepal not far from Tibet. Trekking into this exceptionally beautiful wilderness requires a considerable degree of fitness.
Few trekkers bother to reach this less accessible region, so there is little to distract you as you observe the rich culture of rural life in Nepal. Outdoor enthusiasts will be well rewarded with cascading waterfalls, thousands of species of plants, animals and birds found in the lush jungles, rhododendron, chestnut and oak forests.
I would like to higly recommend Annapurna Foothills Trekking for the great adventure they provided to me during the 3 weeks I spent with them! The trekking and climbing guides were excellent, always available and paying a special attention to any of my requests. I expect to come back again…Haidar Navi
My wife and I trekked the Manaslu Circuit with Ngima's Annapurna Foothills in late 2014. The trip, from start to finish, was nothing short of spectacular. Ngima and Tenzin were the warmest, most gracious hosts, and showed single-minded devotion to ensuring the trip's success, safety, and joyfulness.Merrick Kingston
