There are 27 trekking peaks ( Group A and Group B) open for adventurous trekkers who want to enter the world of alpine climbing. In most cases these Himalayan peaks range from 6000m-6500m and require climbing on snow and ice. For most trekking peaks you don’t need any previous experience but you should be physically and mentally prepared for the climbing.
Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has formulated few rules and regulations to regulate peak climbing in the Himalayan region. You can get the detailed information from NMA's website. http://www.nepalmountaineering.org/
One of NMA rules is quoted as follows:
Every individual or party granted a climbing permit shall be accompanied by a Sirdar/Guide, who must be registered with NMA.
