Annapurna View Trekking- 7 Days

The Annapurna View Trek is the quickest and easiest way to enjoy the beauty of the Annapurna Himalayas. The starting point of the hike is a 45-minute drive from your hotel on Pokhara’s lakeside to Phedi. A 2-3 hour hike through subtropical forests brings you to one of the most famous view points for watching the sun rise and set on the Annapurnas.

While the Annapurna View Hike can be done as a one day trek for travelers on a tight time schedule, it is also ideal for those who decide to remain in Pokhara while their travel partners go trekking.  Pokhara is a great place to relax with a book by the lake while enjoing the backdrop of the magnificent Fishtail Mountain. The Annapurna View Hike gives a little taste of trekking through the hills and provides insight into typical village life. The hills come to life as villagers go about their chores. Farmers will be working in the terraced fields of these gently rolling hills, as they have for centuries, without machinery to pollute the clean, quiet atmosphere.

Our next overnight place is Australian Camp, a favorite place for breathtaking sunset and sunrise views of Annapurna South, 8091m, Manasalu, 8165m, of Pokhara and Phewa Lake.Dhaulagiri, 8167m, Ganesh Himal, 7446m, Machhapuchare  (Fish Tail) and more than 25 other mountains over 6000 meters.

Staying overnight in Australian Camp allows us to enjoy the breathtaking views at sunset and sunrise. A vehicle will pick us up in Kade ( 1 hour  descend from Australian Camp) and take us back to our Hotel in Pokhara.

What can be better than celebrating your precious Christmas and New Year Holiday time with your Family, Friends, Loved ones at Annapurna Base Camp. Dates are available.

Difficulty Rating of Annapurna View Trek

Any avid walker who is able to hike approximately 3-4 hours a day carrying a lightweight backpack will be fit enough to do this trek. We recommend you bring walking poles, as you will find them helpful especially in the long descents when your legs may feel shaky, and the stone steps are uneven. The altitude is only 3200m, so there is no altitude related risk.

Safe Drinking Water on Annapurna View Trek

We suggest that you drink boiled water or bring chlorine tablets to purify the normal water available in the guest houses along the way. There is a small fee charged for the boiled water. Several guesthouses have Euro-guard filters. Although mineral water is available in most places, there is no provision to dispose of the plastic bottles, so we encourage the guests to do what they can to protect the environment.

Re-charging Batteries of Electronic Items on the Trek

You can recharge your digital camera, iPod, batteries etc. with electricity or solar power sources. You may need to buy an adaptor in Kathmandu before the trip since the plugs in Nepal might be different. The lodges charge a small fee per hour for recharging facilities.

Nepal uses 220-240 volts to power your appliances. The sockets fit both round and flat plugs.
