Panch Pokhari Trekking is one of the newly opened trekking destinations nestled in the base of glorious Jugal Himal. Despite of being a new trekking destination, it is already gaining a lot of recognition and is regarded as one of the finest pleasure trips to visualize magnificent mountain vistas in the Himalaya of Nepal. Literally speaking, ‘Panch Pokhari’ refers a group of five lakes. Panch Pokhari is a divine journey for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. Situated at an altitude of 4010m, Panch Pokhari is surrounded by several towering mountains. This trek is relatively an easy and pleasant journey for trekkers with bounded time frame but possessing an aspiration to be amidst the Himalaya of Nepal.

Our Panch Pokhari Trek starts with a scenic drive to Chautara situated at Sindhupalchowk district. At Chautara, we will spend our first night where you can witness new indigenous faces and get to know about their lifestyle and culture. Moving ahead, we traverse through several Sherpa and Tamang communities. Along the trekking trail, trekkers will be rewarded with dramatic landscapes, cascading waterfalls, alpine forest, divine shrines and many more wonders of the Himalaya. Panch Pokhari Trekking provides an excellent chance to encounter floras and faunas namely juniper, pine, rhododendron and Wild Boar and Blue Sheep if you’re lucky. Talking about the mountain ranges, Panch Pokhari Trekking offers a spellbinding view of mountains like Dorjee Lakpa (6966m), Phurbi Chhyachu (6637m) and ravishing ranges of Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal respectively. After reaching Nasimpati, we will find ourselves in an absolutely diverse surrounding. We will pass through the trails ample with rocks and have to climb up stairs until we reach ‘Lauri Bina Pass’. After the pass, we will reach our final destination, Panch Pokhari. At first, we will see the first three lakes and the remaining two in a distance. We will explore the lakes and stay overnight in this surreal surrounding. The next morning, we visit the temple of Shiva and after that, eye witness the alluring beauty of five holy ponds encircled by towering green hills making the surrounding spectacular.

Being a group of sacred lakes at a considerable altitude, pilgrims and tourists from all over the country pays a visit to Panch Pokhari especially during Janai Purnima Festival which falls on August. People visit these divine lakes to change their religious thread which is called Janai. People take a dip in the pond before changing or wearing their sacred thread.
