About Kathmandu Valley Tour

Kathmandu Valley Tour is ideal for those who want to get a close glimpse of the country in a very short period of time. In 4 Days we will guide you through the historical and cultural highlights of the majestic Kathmandu Valley.

In the 15th century the Kathmandu Valley was composed of three separate medieval kingdoms - Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. Each kingdom’s unique artistic expression of art and architecture is seen in its well preserved temples, palaces, brick-paved courtyards and quaint streets. UNESCO has recognized and restored many such places as World Heritage Sites. Our tour of the Kathmandu Valley is an interesting adventure of history and modernity. Exploring Kathmandu city, Patan and Bhaktapur is a lifetime experience in Nepal.

Visitors are enchanted by the exquisite architecture of the temples and monasteries. Kathmandu being a unique mixture of different castes, cultures, and faiths, including Hinduism and Buddhism, has many age-old stone and wooden carvings which illustrate its religious traditions and festivals. The Kathmandu Valley remains a culturally diverse, historical and political center of Nepal. Kathmandu has also served as an important trading hub for the travelers and traders from Tibet and India.

After breakfast, we visit two more cities adjoining Kathmandu: Patan & Bhaktapur. These are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Patan is known as The City of Fine Arts. Patan Durbar Square, formerly the palace of the ancient kingdom, is one of the places in the Kathmandu Valley where the original medieval arts and architecture are still intact. Patan Durbar Square is full of ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples with exquisite carvings and monuments.

The medieval town of Bhaktapur, known as the Town of the Devotees, has preserved its medieval arts, architecture, culture, and lifestyle to this date. Walking along the cobbled lanes of Bhaktapur, you will feel like you have travelled back in time. This evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner with the Annapurna Foothills treks and Expeditions guide in a typical restaurant.
