Main Points of Mera Peak Climbing

What Makes Us Different

  1. We provide a highly experienced Sherpa guide who leads the expedition from beginning to end, ensuring consistency, safety, and personalized support throughout the journey.
  2. Our program includes overnight stays at both Base Camp and High Camp, allowing for proper preparation and optimal acclimatization prior to the summit attempt.
  3. A contingency day is built into the itinerary to accommodate adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, enhancing the overall success rate of the climb.
  4. Our pricing is carefully balanced within a mid-range category, offering excellent value without compromising on service quality or safety standards.
  5. For reliable emergency communication, we are equipped with a Thuraya satellite phone.
  6. We provide all essential climbing equipment required for the expedition, ensuring convenience and cost efficiency for our clients.
  7. As part of our comprehensive safety measures, we carry a supplementary oxygen cylinder complete with mask and regulator.
  8. Our itinerary is thoughtfully designed with two acclimatization days at Thangnak (4,356 m) and Khare (5,045 m), allowing the body to adjust gradually to high altitude conditions.

What is different from other operators?

  1. Many operators assign a trekking guide from Kathmandu to Khare and then switch to a different climbing guide for the summit. This transition can create challenges, as the new guide may not be familiar with the client’s pace and individual needs. In contrast, our lead guide accompanies you throughout the entire journey, ensuring continuity and a deeper understanding of each client.
  2. At altitudes above 5,000 meters, proper acclimatization is critical. Some itineraries push directly from Khare to High Camp (5,780 m) in a single day, which can be physically demanding and increase the risk of altitude-related issues. Our approach prioritizes gradual ascent for safety and comfort.
  3. Weather conditions in the Himalayas are highly unpredictable. Including a reserve day provides essential flexibility. If not required for weather delays, this extra day offers the opportunity to further enjoy the surrounding mountain landscapes.
  4. Some Mera Peak programs appear more affordable due to shorter or incomplete itineraries. It is important to carefully review the number of days and the overall structure of the program to ensure proper acclimatization and a safe experience.
  5. While internet access may be available in certain mountain regions, it is often unreliable and can be disrupted for several days due to weather or technical issues. Our communication systems are designed with this reality in mind.
  6. Many packages do not include climbing equipment, requiring clients to rent gear in Kathmandu at an additional cost of approximately USD 250–300. Our all-inclusive approach eliminates this extra expense.
  7. Although supplementary oxygen is rarely required on Mera Peak, we carry it as a precautionary measure. In high-altitude environments, preparedness is essential—prevention is always better than cure.
  8. Mera Peak itineraries vary widely. Some include only one acclimatization day in Khare, which may not be sufficient for all climbers. Our program incorporates a more comprehensive acclimatization schedule to enhance safety and increase summit success rates.
