Succesful ascent of Mera PeakOn 14. April 2023 I reached the summit of Mera Peak - at the age of 70. It has been one of the hardest and at the same time best mountain climbs of my life. The tour had been organized as a solo trip, so we were a group of three persons to approach the mountain (me, the climbing guide and the porter Bebek Raj). During the whole tour, I didn’t have any problems with high altitude sickness, due to a very smooth approach to higher altitudes and planned extra days for acclimatization. I am very grateful that Annapurna Foothills, led by Ngima Nuru Sherpa, has organized my trip in a quite excellent way. Ngima Nuru Sherpa proved to be a very reliable and correct organisator of this tour. The agency was also very flexible in making changes to the initial plan of itinerary according to my wishes (e.g. changing from a car drive back to Kathmandu to a helicopter flight from Lukla). One of the best experiences of this trip was to be accompanied by Mingma Dorjee Sherpa, who acted as my climbing guide. Mingma Dorjee is a very experienced climbing guide who has summited Mount Everest, Makalu, Himlung, Imja Tse and Mera Peak (16x) and others. And he is a very warm hearted and caring person. We had much fun walking and climbing together and talked a lot about our previous mountain climbing adventures. Additionally, Mingma Dorjee was extremely conscious about safety (and also carried a bottle of medical oxygene in order to be prepared for emergency cases). With Mingma Dorjee I had the best possible climbing partner, and we became real friends during this trip.I wish to thank all participating persons of the agency, and when I come back to Nepal I will certainly go again with the Annapurna Foothills Trekking and Expedition Agency.Best wishes and warm regardsStefan Kraetke, Berlin, Germany

Manaslu Trek and Rara LakeOct 2022Revisited the Manaslu Circuit after 5 years: this time with my son, his first time in Nepal.It was quite an experience for him as there had been landslides following several days of rain the week before. This meant diversions and uncertainty about being able to go over the pass because it was closed for several days due to heavy snow. Our guide, Dawa, was wonderful and kept us informed with the changing circumstances and we successfully crossed the Larke La pass which was covered in snow and ice. It was tricky but we made it due to the experience, expertise and care of our guide. This was my second trek with Annapurna Foothills.After a short break in the lakeside town of Pokhara, I set off with my wife on a trek in the remote western area of Nepal to the revered Rara Lake, again with Annapurna Foothills. This in some respects was a pioneering trek of 8 days - again our guide’s experience proved invaluable in this most unusual, exciting and successful trek.Can’t recommend highly enough the thoroughness in the planning and care this company and staff afforded us. Throughout both treks the management kept in contact with our guide.My wife and I have trekked many times in Nepal over 20 years and our last expeditions with Annapurna Foothills have been the best. We are already planning another trek with them which speaks for itself.  

We are a group of 4 friends on a recent trip to Pike Peak.The trail is fairly new and therefore less travelled. It was one of our most enjoyable treks to Nepal although we have been there for other treks before. It is very scenic with many majestic snow-capped mountains and verdant valleys within sight. The terrain is challenging although altitude is just above 4000 metres high. Most teahouse amenities are very basic as this is a fairly new route just starting to welcome guests. We were guided by Annapurna Foothills Treks & Expedition Pvt Ltd, a reliable and established company under Ngima. Incredible Trek and Experience - Mera Peak Pass, Island Peak, and EBC Over 1 MonthFrom first contact with Ngima i knew it was a good company, and the more contact and eventual meeting i had with both Ngima and the team, i knew we were in very good hands.Ngima was always polite, considerate and helpful, the same for both our guides and also all our porters.Our guides Dendi and Ngawa had both climbed Everest, Dendi several times!Our Porters were amazing, the loads they carried over the mountains and passes to make our life easier, were just incredible, and always with a smile!The trek starting from Kathmandhu was always professional, lodges were basic but scenery was amazing, food was good, and summit days were hard, but the energy from reaching the summits, words cannot describe.Dendi and Ngawa always making sure we were ok, offering help and doing whatever they could to ensure we all reached the summit of our climbs.Our whole party had a 100% success of our summits, and are all thankful for being with such a great team of people who all helped us achieve a fantastic life experience.

Cho La Pass TrekApr 2022In April 2022 we did the Gokyo Valley+EBC trek. We choose AnnapurnaFoothills based on a friend's recommendation. Everything went great from the start. Ngima and his team had an answer for all questions and organized the trip exactly according to our wishes. Everything was perfectly organized on site and we didn't have to worry about anything. We were accompanied by a porter and a guide who were very warm and hospitable. They did their best every day to make us feel comfortable and enjoy the trekking. For us it was an unforgettable journey that we look back on fondly. We definitely recommend the organization Annapurna Foothills.

Nepal is the most beautiful country and the hiking was like nothing we’ve ever experienced.
